Imran Okoth Delivers on Solemn Promise to Late Brother

A promise is as good as debt and Kibra MP, Bernard Imran Okoth, has been on a mission to settle one owed to his late brother Ken Okoth.

On Thursday, January 9, the legislator was finally able to hand over the refurbished Toi Primary School back to the institution's administration.

The successful completion of the renovation of the school went a long way in helping Imran to deliver on a promise he made that he would carry on executing his late brother's education legacy.

"Together with Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati and other leaders from Kibra, we are currently attending the handing over ceremony of the refurbished Toi Primary School," he posted on his twitter page.

He went on to share some before and after photos of the newly refurbished school, with the stark contrast between the two clear for all to see.

Interestingly, the softspoken leader attended Olympic and Toi Primary Schools during his school days.

The late Ken Okoth is believed to have only trusted in his brother when it came to ensuring that various development projects were carried out diligently, going as far as placing him in charge of the Children of Kibra Foundation.

“He was the project manager. He was the one overseeing all the projects that Ken had back home while abroad. He trusted him with all the donor funds he sent back home to run the foundation,” a nephew revealed to the Daily Nation on November 8, 2019.

“He has always been the quiet one in the family but very involved. They say behind every successful man is a woman, (but) behind the success of Ken was Imran. He is the only person he trusted back home," he added.

'Build a school, close a jail' was something his late brother often stated, and Imran seems keen to continue his late brother's legacy by completing the construction of Kibra Secondary School.
