Success usually comes to those who are too busy to be looking for it.
This was certainly the case for Nadia Ahmed Abdalla, whose name has suddenly made its way across the country following President Uhuru Kenyatta's Cabinet reshuffle on January 14.
The energetic public relations expert was appointed as the new Information and communications technology (ICT) CAS in charge of Innovation and Youth.
Back in 2019, Nadia was part of the pioneers who took the country by storm in the reality TV series dubbed Ms President on KTN News.
Her bubbly spirit endeared her to many, including Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, who was among the very first people to congratulate her on her new job.
"Congratulations Nadia Ahmed Abdalla on your appointment as CAS for ICT, Innovation and Youth. As a county, we are proud of you. It is our hope that you will use the same intellect, zeal, and wisdom that you served the people of Mombasa," the governor posted on Twitter.
Prior to her latest post, the published author was actively serving as a Fierce Lady official - a communication network that comprises of public relations and networking consultancy.
Nadia, popularly known as Naddy among her peers, holds a masters in arts in international relations and cultural diplomacy from Hochschule Furtwangen University, Germany.
In April 2017, she published her first book The Feminist in US, which basically covered her personal journey in trying to understand what feminism was all about as well as the general theories and misconceptions around the feminist movement.
Her social media pages were flooded with congratulatory messages following her appointment to government, with the majority stating that she was perfect for the job.
"Congratulations Nadia on your appointment as CAS for ICT! We’re so proud of you." the Canadian High Commission to Kenya posted on Twitter.
Uhuru's major reshuffle also led to the appointment of former Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti as the new Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) for Education among several other changes.
