He narrated that the individual passed the virus to six primary contacts who then passed the virus to five secondary contacts.

Amoth concluded that the individual was responsible for spreading the virus to more than half of those who lived in Kawangware.

The DG's explanation came shortly after Health CAS Mercy Mwangangi revealed that from the mass testing that was conducted in Kawangware on Friday, May 1, seven individuals had tested positive for the virus.

She added that Kawangware was leading with the number of cases in Nairobi at 20.

Amoth maintained that it was very important for individuals to exercise self -quarantine so that tree branches would stop growing from one case.

The county recorded the highest number of cases in a single day. 24 individuals tested positive after 1,925 individuals had been tested for the virus.

Two cases were also discharged from the hospital bringing the total of those who had recovered to 152.

On the other hand, two others succumbed to the virus, bringing the number of fatalities to 22.
