Billionaire Manu Chandaria was awarded a Lifetime Leadership Achievement Award at the Euro Knowledge Philanthropy Leadership Lecture and Award Reception in London, UK on Friday, October 30.
The Comcraft Group Executive Chairman was recognized for his exemplary humanitarian, governance and leadership skills.
Awardees were recognized for their leadership impact that has made far-reaching and positive contributions to the development of their respective countries, sectors and industries.
Chandaria, is the founding Chairman of the East African Business Council and the Kenya Private Sector Alliance, an umbrella body representing over two hundred sectors and organizations.
He is also a member of the Private Sector Advisory Council and Patron in Africa for Global Peace Foundation and has been appointed and served in numerous government boards and committees.
"As Chairman of the Chandaria Foundation, he has been instrumental in setting up schools, universities and hospitals," Euroknowledge stated.
In 2019, the philanthropist awarded 20 police officers for risking their lives in the course of duty.
He commended the officers for their exemplary performance and urged them to continue dedicating their lives to serve Kenyans.
Through the Chandaria Foundation, the billionaire has been awarding law enforcers for over 30 years.
Former Sierra Leone President Ernest Koroma won the Lifetime Extraordinary Award of Excellence.
Nigeria's Sadiya Umar Farouk, Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development won the Best National Humanitarian Response to Covid 19 crisis.
