The former wife to lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui has satirically mocked Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and his impeachment woes. Kinyanjui is leading Sonko's legal team against allegations fronted by MCAs who impeached him on Thursday, December 3.
Sonko was accused of graft, gross misconduct, violation of the constitution and abuse of office.
Rose Wanja Kinyanjui trolled the governor whose fate will be sealed by the Senate on Thursday, December 17, taking a dig at the governor's financial issues.
On Wednesday night, December 16, through her social media pages, she reacted to witness testimony that Sonko used bursary funds to pay lawyers.
"Bursary money was being given to MCAs in Nairobi. All I can do now is to listen in to Senate proceedings," she posted in what may seemingly be interpreted as a dig at her former husband and lawyer Harrison Kinyanjui.
A section of her followers claimed that she too may have benefitted from the alleged embezzled taxpayers money.
"I am very sure that the payment came in when I was already on my way out," she responded to the claims.
Wanja and Kinyanjui parted ways in 2018 in a bitter fallout. Some netizens alleged that she harboured ill feelings for the lawyer as interpreted from her previous posts on their failed union.
The two lost their daughter who was buried at the Langata cemetery. Wanja claimed that she had been barred from visiting the daughter's grave after the divorce.
She emotionally posted that her children have never visited the grave and that the decision will haunt her (Wanja) for the rest of her life.
"Every time I see him, I see death. I see my daughter's grave as I left it and no sympathising words can ease the pain I feel.
"If you see him (Kinyanjui), let him know that I will never forget the letter he wrote directing me to never visit the grave. It is unfortunate and I honestly regret burying her in Langata. However, I wish him the very best," she posted.
