410 Test Positive for Covid-19 As Six Die

410 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample size of 7,180 tested in the last 24 hours.

This takes Kenya's cumulative confirmed positive cases to 105,467.

In a statement on Friday, February 26, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe disclosed that the total tests conducted so far are 1,289,979.

From the positive cases recorded in the last 24 hours, 368 are Kenyans while 42 are foreigners. 276 are males while 134 are females.

The youngest is a one-year-old child while the oldest is 83 years.

24 patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. Total recoveries now stand at 86,521.

Sadly, 6 patients have succumbed to the disease pushing our cumulative fatality to 1,853.

A total of 342 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide while 1,420 patients are on Home Based Isolation and Care . 61 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit ( ICU ) , 25 of whom are on ventilatory support and 27 on supplemental oxygen . 9 patients are on observation .

Another 12 patients are separately on supplementary oxygen all of whom are in general wards. No patient is in a High Dependency Unit (HDU).

In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 254, Mombasa 27, Migori 24, Kiambu 22, Nakuru 15, Turkana 13, Machakos 8, Kericho 6, Uasin Gishu 6, Kajiado 5, Taita Taveta 5, Kilifi 4, Meru 4, Nyeri 4, Busia 2, Kakamega 2, Kisumu 2, Kwale 2, Makueni 1, Kirinyaga 1, Kitui 1, Wajir 1 and Bungoma.

In terms of Sub County distribution; the 254 cases in Nairobi are from Lang'ata (39), Westlands (32), Embakasi Central (27), Embakasi East (21), Dagoretti North (17), Kibra (16), Embakasi West, Kasarani and Makadara (13) cases each, Kamukunji and Ruaraka (10) cases each, Roysambu (9), Embakasi South and Mathare (8) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi North and Starehe (6) cases each.

In Mombasa the 27 cases are from Mvita (11), Kisauni (5), Changamwe (4), Jomvu (3), Likoni and Nyali (2) cases each. In Migori all the 24 cases are from Suna east. In Kiambu the 22 cases are from Kiambu Town (5), Kabete (4), Ruiru and Thika (3) cases each, Juja and Limuru (2) cases each, Kiambaa, Kikuyu and Lari (1) case each.

In Nakuru the 15 cases are from Nakuru East (6), Nakuru West (3), Nakuru North and Subukia (2) cases each, Naivasha and Rongai (1) case each. In Turkana all the 13 cases are from Turkana West. In Machakos the 8 cases are from Machakos Town and Athi River (4) cases each. In Kajiado the 5 cases are from l<ajiado North (3), Kajiado Central and Kajiado East (1) case each. In Kericho all the 6 cases are from Ainamoi. In Uasin Gishu the 6 cases are from Ainabkoi, Soy and Turbo (2) cases each. In Taita Taveta all the 5 cases are from Taveta. In Kilifi the 4 cases are from Malindi (2), Kilifi North and Magarini (1) case each.

In Meru the 4 cases are from Tigania West (3) and Imenti North (1) while in Nyeri the 4 cases are from Nyeri Central (3) and Mukurweini (1). The 2 cases in Busia are from Matayos, the 2 cases in Kakamega are from Lurambi and Navakholo (1) case each, the 2 cases in Kisumu are from Kisumu Central and the 2 cases in Kwale are from Lunga Lunga and Msambweni (1) case each.

The case in Makueni is from Makueni, the case in Kirinyaga is from Kirinyaga Central, the case in Kitui is from Kitui Central, the case in Wajir is from Wajir North and the case in Bungoma is from Kanduyi.
