Police in Kiambu are now investigating an incident where a woman fell off the 2nd floor of an apartment complex in Thindigua, Kiambu County, after what seemed like a night of merry between her and a Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officer.

The KDF officer, only identified as Vincent, had invited the young woman to his apartment on Saturday, April 10, where they had been drinking alcohol.

According to one of the tenants, the incident happened at around 11:00pm when the woman fell through the window and landed on her back a few meters from the building.

"The suspicion is that she was pushed because the way she fell was on her back, and a few metres from the building. It looks like some force was used," stated one of the tenants who wanted to remain anonymous.

Paramedics who reside in the building were the first responders, trying to give her first aid before ambulances arrived an hour later to rush her to hospital.

Kiambu police who are still investigating the matter say they are yet to establish what transpired stating that the woman was either thrown out by her lover after they had an argument or she accidentally fell since they were drinking heavily.

The man was arrested on the same night but later released on bond as the woman remains in critical condition at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

This comes weeks after another woman narrated how she was thrown off the 12th floor of a building by her boyfriend in September 2020 on Ambank House in Nairobi CBD.

Eunice Wangari had travelled from her home in Karura, Kiambu County, to meet her date, who she had connected with on Facebook, at his office when the incident happened.

According to Wangari, an argument started the moment she stated she wanted to leave at about 7:30pm after which Moses Njoroge allegedly threw her off the window on the 12th floor.

The woman luckily fell on the 9th floor but sustained serious pelvic injuries, and was rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital where she spent two months undergoing treatment.
