Kenyans from all walks of life have come out to show love and support to blogger Wanja Mwaura after she opened up on her despair while fighting for her life at a Thika Hospital.

She has been sharing her journey as she fights the Covid-19 virus for the last few days without getting any better.

On Sunday morning, August 1, she indicated her hopelessness but the post instantly went viral as Kenyans - many of them strangers - penned long messages of support.

"I want to give up now. Done my best fighting. No longer strong enough to keep up the fight. Am down to my very last. I need to rest from this pain n discomfort. I am tired." wrote Wanja.

By the time of publishing, she had received over two thousand messages of encouragement.

One Kenyan on Facebook commented on Faith's post reminding her of her family that she would part with if she gave up fighting the virus.

"Faith you can never give up, your kids need you the most...stay strong for your kids," he wrote.

One Kenyan Anil Taylor, took to the comments section of Wanja's post, encouraging her to fight on as he too had close friends who had been placed in the Intensive Care Unit due to the virus but managed to recover from it.

"You will heal...I have seen a few of my friends who were really down, some in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and they are now completely well," wrote Taylor in his quest to encourage the ailing Wanja.

Other Kenyans said a prayer through messages in the comments section and wrote messages of encouragement to Wanja.

On the evening of July 30, a fighting Wanja struggled to catch her breath, writing the first message of her resignation on her Facebook page.

She pleaded with her family and friends to pray for her recovery as she had been getting frail and weak, saying she struggled to breathe due to the debilitating disease.

"It has been a tough night, breathing is an issue, I'm tired of the heavy breathing and deep breath, fevers skyrocketing, I don't know which is the best position to sleep on despite trying to sleep on my belly. It is super crazy," wrote Wanja.

The Ministry of Health has issued a warning to Kenyans to observe the requisite regulations, warning of a more resilient and dangerous Covid-19 variant, the Delta variant.
