Muthamia spent all of her childhood in Kenya before she moved to England to study at the University of Sussex.

In her appreciation message, she appreciated her family and Kenyans for backing her till she clinched the most coveted crown in England.

"My family are so supportive they can't stop talking about it, and the Kenyan community has really got behind me and wanted to support me and loved seeing someone from my heritage being represented," the model stated after scooping the award.

Prior be winning the Miss England Crown, the health technology consultant, had also won the first-ever Miss All African Colours contest.

Muthamia was inspired to enter modelling after enduring an abusive relationship that helped her to be stronger as a woman.

"I would have to say that the most difficult experience that I've had in life is having gone through an abusive relationship and it's not something that people speak about often. But having gone through a relationship that was abusive helped me learn more about myself.

"Knowing that I was able to come through that experience, learn more about myself and my worth, who I am as a woman and be able to now use this platform in Miss England to help other women is amazing," the beauty queen shared.

Muthamia becomes the latest Kenyan to make it big abroad and specifically in the UK.

Two Kenyans on Saturday, August 28, launched a revolutionary vehicle charging company, Eversure Charging in the UK.

The two, Samuel Chege and George Githinji launched a company that is looking to help address the environmental low emission challenge.
