Just like any other career, journalists experience numerous outcomes in their line of duty and have at times made headlines for different reasons- be it good or bad.

Kenyans.co.ke takes a look at a number of journalists who became news themselves in 2021.

Larry Madowo

Madowo's position at CNN was summed up as an International Correspondent- covering politics, business, entertainment and hard news stories from Africa. However, his role has expanded into news reporting and anchoring as well.

Madowo's skill and prowess during the US elections while with the London-based giant BBC played a critical part in establishing himself as a seasoned international journalist whose attributes play into CNN's diverse coverage.

Shiksha Arora

KBC anchor Shiksha Arora was in the news after she took to social media, narrating her unfortunate incident at the globe roundabout within the city.

The media personality indicated that she had been choked by unknown men and a number of her personal belongings stolen.

She detailed how two men conducted a well hatched plan to rob her while she was in her car.

The incident brought to the fore a true picture of what many Kenyans go through within the Central Business District (CBD) and its environs.

Terryanne Chebet

A brief interaction with a social media user saw media personality Terryanne Chebet trend for the better part of September 14, 2021.

Chebet took to her social pages detailing how she had turned down a job application from a qualified youth for stalking her.

At the time, the celebrated journalist was moments away from inviting him for an interview, only to realize that the applicant had been stalking her by sending suggestive messages- this made her reject the request.

A section of Kenyans online lauded Chebet for the move while others trolled her, intimating that she could have handled the incident in a better way.

Jeff Koinange

Citizen TV news anchor Jeff Koinange trended on Twitter on September 20, 2021, after struggling to read news on both the teleprompter and printed pamphlets- patching and repeating words several times.

Kenyans were quick to point out his on-air performance - as he fluffed his lines, starred at the teleprompter and occasionally shifted in his seat, looking quite uneasy.

Jeff was also called out for failing to use his trademark phrases and the happy or lively demeanour he always showcased on prime time news.
