The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party will convene its National Delegates Conference (NDC) on Tuesday, March 15 at the Kasarani Indoor Arena.

In a statement seen by Kenyans.co.ke, the main agenda of the party will be to review and approve the party's policies, consider and approve other party matters as well as nominate the Presidential candidate.

The notice affirmed that the event would be held under strict adherence to the Ministry of Health guidelines.

"Pursuant to article 6, 2 (iv) Article 31.1 (i) and Article 31.2 of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Constitution, the UDA National Delegates convention will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at Kasarani Indoor Arena from 10:00 am," read part of the statement.

Deputy President William Ruto is expected to be announced as the party's presidential candidate. Patrick Githae, who is part of UDA's communication team, revealed that no other candidate had declared interest in the ticket but stated that there was still time for others.

This comes as the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) urged political parties to hold their NDCs before the nomination timeline slated for April 22, 2022.

"Political parties' National Delegates Conference (NDCs) should be held in line with respective party constitutions and view of Gazetted election timelines. The NDCs, however, should be held before the parties' nomination date whose timeline is April 22, 2022," the ORPP stated.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is scheduled to hold its NDC on Saturday, February 26 - a date that will coincide with Jubilee's NDC event at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), Nairobi.

The ruling party has been adamant in its revival bid - with the change in its symbol, colours, and flag. In the latest posts shared by the Jubilee, the party symbol of two hands against a yellow background has been replaced with that of a white bird carrying a twig against a red background.

The agenda of the meeting includes the reviewing of party policies, ratifying proposed changes to the party's constitution as well as approving the new colours and symbol.

On the other hand, the ODM party's NDC will comprise about 3,000 delegates who have backed Raila Odinga's Presidential bid.

"Dear members and supporters, the NDC scheduled for Saturday, February 26, is only for the 3,000 delegates comprising of Governors, Deputy Governors, Members of Parliament, top county officials, and Members of County Assembly (MCAs)," read part of the statement from ODM.
