Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i was spotted wearing a Ksh470,000 watch during President William Ruto's first cabinet meeting.

A search by Kenyans.co.ke on images shared by State House showed that the outgoing CS wore a Breitling Superocean Heritage II watch during the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, September 27.

The exquisite watch's value ranges from Ksh470,000 to Ksh570,000 on various shopping platforms.

However, the price could hit the Ksh600,000 mark if a person decides to import it.

Matiangi's watch is black coated and has a black rubber strap.

The Breitling super ocean series dates back to the 50s with various series made out of gold and stainless steel.

"Inspired by the original Superocean from the 1950s, the Superocean Heritage combines iconic design features with a modern touch. Sporty and elegant, the Superocean Heritage is a true embodiment of style at sea.

Offered either with a matching mesh bracelet, or a “mesh-styled” rubber strap fitted with a folding buckle, this Superocean Heritage is powered by the Breitling Manufacture Caliber B20, a COSC-certified chronometer based on the Tudor Caliber MT5612," Btirtling states on their site.

Notably, the manufacturer offers a five-year warranty for the watch and an additional option for three years.

Breitling dates back to 1884 and was founded by Léon Breitling in Switzerland and is famed for its expensive watches.

The Grande Complication pocket watch is the most expensive watch under the Breitling production line and costs Ksh33 million (USD 280,700).

Matiang'i joins a long list of notable Kenyans who have been spotted with expensive watches.

In March, former President Uhuru Kenyatta was spotted wearing the Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon valued at Ksh37 million.
