An autopsy examination conducted on a Kiambu-based businessman revealed that he died of blunt-force trauma to the head.

In the exercise conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor, it was determined that the businessman, the husband of a 2022 woman representative candidate, was hit severely on the head by a blunt object.

Family members present during the exercise detailed that injuries on his body showed he met his death in a gruesome manner.

Further, the deceased also had injuries on his fingers, indicating that the businessman may have fought for his life during the ordeal.

In particular, the fingers on his left hand were the most affected.

The autopsy was conducted on October 21 at a city-based hospital even as the detectives intensified their investigations into the murder

Family members believed that the postmortem results will help officers in unravelling the case.

His family is yet to settle on a date for his burial as two wrangling parties are battling for burial rights.

Meanwhile, his wife, the Kiambu politician, remained in custody as a prime suspect in the case

According to preliminary investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI), the deceased was murdered in his house in Mang'u before his body was dumped in a nearby forest.

"Pieces of blood stained metal rods, blood soaked bed sheets, stained curtains and clothing were part of the exhibits that were recovered in the house by the sleuths based at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory,"

"Detectives based at the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, Homicide Department, Forensic Crime Scene and Photographic units have concluded that he was murdered in his bedroom on the top floor," DCI stated then.

The murder of the businessman was linked to a crime of passion as the police stated that the businessman had a lover who attended family events with him days before his demise.
