A Matatu conductor and his driver were recorded assaulting an individual on a busy highway on Friday, November 11.

The two who work for Lopha Sacco, that plies Thika Road, seemed to have been on the offensive against the helpless man.

Having no other option, the assaulted individual had no option but to stomach up blows that were hurled at him in intervals of milliseconds.

At a glance, it would appear as if the middle-aged man was seemingly refusing to board the vehicle.

The video that was shared online immediately sparked outrage from Kenyans.

Former Cabinet Administrative Secretary in the Ministry of Trade, David Osiany, called on the new Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome to apprehend the culprits.

"This is unacceptable, Bwana Police IG. Find the vehicle and the conductor," Osiany urged for action to be taken.

Road safety advocates, Sikika, also called on relevant authorities to arrest the rogue driver and his tout.

"National Police Service and National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), we want to see action taken," Sikika commented on its social media page.

The advocacy group also warned the community, including Lopha MP Sacco, and its employees that they will not evade prosecution.

A section of Kenyans urged NTSA to revoke the driver and tout's licenses. Others wanted them retrianed on traffic laws and handling commuters.

It was, however, not yet identified whether the assaulted individual was a passenger or a parking boy.

Nonetheless, NTSA was also asked to investigate the matter and issue a preliminary report before apprehending the duo.
