Moorings Story
Moorings gained fame for being the first floating hotel in the vast East African region. It was built in 1994 on a buoyant platform.
The floating hotel has a capacity of 100 people and is quite spacious, with private seating arrangements. Seats within the restaurant vary and include comfy wooden padded armchairs, sofas, and benches.
Besides the seats, there is a dhow docked on the side, which allows visitors to enjoy the waves while sunbathing.
The floating restaurant is extraordinary such that during high tide, seawater splashes on the sides of the wooden floors making it sway.
Moorings restaurant is idyllic and tranquil, giving a new feeling away from crowded beaches in other parts of the Coastal region.
Soothing music blends perfectly with the sound of waves giving the open-air restaurant a classic feel.
Visitors can take a ride on a dhow or watch sea activities at the creek while enjoying the breeze from the waterfront setting that gives a spectacular ocean view, particularly at sunset.
