Kenyans marvelled at Diana Chepkemoi's transformation barely four months after she returned from Saudi Arabia as a domestic worker.
In before and after photos shared on social media on Thursday, January 12, Kenyans were amazed at how Chepkemoi's health had greatly improved.
Chepkemoi - who went viral in 2022 over the torture she experienced in Saudi Arabia - shared her videos of her current state on her Tik Tok account.
"East or west home is the best, she has been there for years but now she’s enjoying her own life with her family and relatives," Abdisayid Ina Dirir commented.
"Our motherland Kenya. We have freedom. We thank God for your transformation and change," Thomas Maweu echoed.
On the other hand, Kenyans also encouraged other migrant workers facing similar challenges to return home and reunite with their families.
"Never joke with peace of the heart and mind. Together with food, they do wonders to those who embrace them," Den Chris stated.
Since returning to Kenya, the 24- year-old began a Tik Tok account and occasionally gave updates on her health.
A search by Kenyans.co.ke revealed that she already had over 60,000 followers on the platform.
Chepkemboi returned to Kenya on September 6, 2022, after the intervention of the government following an uproar from Kenyans.
During her arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), she narrated that she was held against her free will by her previous employer and occasionally missed meals and medical attention.
"I left Kenya to go to Saudi Arabia with the hopes of getting a better life and to be honest, mine was just the tip of the iceberg, people are suffering there. My friends are suffering.
"'I plead with the government to rescue our people. They are psychologically and mentally tortured. It's a shame being told there is nothing the government can do," she stated.
After her September return, she got a full scholarship to resume her studies at Meru University. Apart from the scholarship, she was also offered a job to help raise money for her upkeep.
