The body of a grade six pupil who went missing on January 4, 2023, was found stashed in a gunny bag.

The young girl's body was found on Friday, January 13, in a maize plantation at Maili Tisa village in Loitokitok, Kajiado County.

While speaking to Kenyan.co.ke, Area Chief Lois Robert, confirmed that the body of the girl was found at a maize plantation, not far away from her home.

"The body had started decomposing when it was discovered by villagers who were going about their routine economic activities," Chief Lois explained.

According to Kajiado police, the body was badly mutilated by unknown people who were seemingly on a bizarre mission.

"Her private parts were severely damaged. We are yet to establish the motive of killing but we also suspect witchcraft sacrifice," Kajiado South Police commander Shadrack Ruto indicated.

Witnesses at the scene of the crime also claimed that the young girl's eyes were gouged out, while her right leg was chopped off.

It was reported that the attackers also skinned the girl's head. The deceased was studying at a local primary school.

Kajiado South Police commander also indicated that the girl was possibly defiled before she was brutally killed by her attackers.

Residents of Maili Tisa asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to move with speed and apprehend the criminals who committed the heinous act.

"We want the police to expedite the investigation and unearth the mystery surrounding the death of this innocent girl," one of the residents implored.

Kajiado police moved the girl's body to Loitoktok sub-county hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem and have already started piecing together the last moments of the girl before she disappeared.

The National Police Service is alarmed by rampant killings across the country, especially bizarre murder cases that have shocked the country since the turn of the year.

On Thursday, January 12, the body of a missing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams supervisor was discovered nailed inside a makeshift coffin in Nyeri.

Homicide experts drawn from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on January 6, launched investigations into the murder of LGBTQ activist and fashion designer Edwin Kiprotich alias Chiloba.
