Ichung'wah reportedly plucked Ogina from the screens in a bid to bolster his communication team, which is key to the powerful office he holds in the pecking order.

At Citizen TV, Ogina covered major political events, including, campaign rallies in the run up to the 2022 General Election.

He worked closely with his former Senior Editor Francis Gachuri who also left RMS in March 2023.

Ogina worked at Kenya Television Network (KTN News) for more than five years before joining Royal Media Services in 2018.

At KTN News, Ogina hosted a political show on which he reviewed the major leadership and development events of the week.

He was one of the lead journalists during the 2017 General Election who extensively covered while working for Standard Group PLC, under KTN News.

Among the high profile leaders Ogina interviewed were ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, President William Ruto and former Head of State Uhuru Kenyatta.

He joins a growing list of seasoned journalists who joined PSC or the Executive office of the President since President Ruto took over. Others are Hussein Mohamed who serves as State House Spokesperson.
