On Tuesday, June 13, the cab company roped into the kidnapping ordeal of Ciku Muiruri's daughter argued that the details of the vehicle ordered did not match that of the car that showed up.

The company explained that it provides details of drivers and vehicles ordered for security reasons.

Therefore, Kenyans using its online services were advised to countercheck the driver and vehicle details before boarding.

"We strongly discourage using vehicles that do not match the details on the platform, as this was one of the issues that led to this unfortunate incident.

On the other hand, the company clarified that it actively engaged with the police during their investigations, adding that more security measures were being enforced to protect its users.

"We also introduced the driver selfie check feature on the platform to enhance safety and prevent driver impersonation and account sharing.

"Our driver and rider apps also have an SOS emergency button that can be used to alert, and seek security or first-response medical assistance at any time during an active trip," the company stated in part.
