Detectives attached to Makadara Police Station have arrested a businesswoman for allegedly knocking her boyfriend's wife during a fight over the man in the Ridgeways area in Starehe Sub-County in Nairobi.
A source privy to the matter explained to Kenyans.co.ke that the scuffle ensued when the businesswoman arrived at the couple's residence in the morning after days of trailing them.
She knocked at the gate, seeking to speak to the man before he left for work. Moments later, the couple's house help approached the gate and found the businesswoman.
After a brief conversation, the house help returned and informed the couple about the woman's request.
The couple decided to talk to the woman at the gate, a conversation which quickly turned into a heated argument.
Irate at the matter, the businesswoman went back to her car and stepped on the gas pedal, driving the vehicle into the gate. This forced the couple to flee for safety.
The source explained that the suspect attempted to run over the boyfriend's wife several times in a fit of rage.
After multiple times, the businesswoman knocked down the boyfriend's wife and ultimately crashed into a nearby vehicle that was parked.
The commotion caught the residents' attention who contacted the police, explaining the events that had transpired. Detectives swiftly responded to the distress call and arrived at the scene.
They managed to restrain the suspect who, according to eyewitnesses, had vowed to kill the boyfriend's wife.
She was arrested and taken into custody at Makadara Police Station.
A charge sheet seen by Kenyans.co.ke revealed that the suspect will be charged with attempted murder for willfully and unlawfully destroying the main gate, garage wall and private motor vehicle, all valued at Ksh1 million.
"(Suspect's name) at Ridgeways in Starehe Sub-County within Nairobi, unlawfully attempted to cause the death of RN by knocking her with a Toyota Rav 4," read part of the charge sheet.
