KeNHA Announces Nationwide Auction of Vehicles

Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a mass auction of motor vehicles and unserviceable items across its offices in the country.

In a notice on Tuesday, the agency indicated that the auction would be held from February 7 to February 14 at different dates and locations.

The exercise will commence at KeNHA Head Quarters opposite Laptrust Fund Garden at 11:00 am.

On the same day, KeNHA will also conduct the auction exercise in Nairobi, Athi River Weighbridge and the Lower Eastern Region.

On February 8, bidders will participate in auctions at Isinya, Juja and along the Thika Superhighway from 11:00 am.

The Central Region auction will be held at the Ministry of Roads Building Makaburini Road in Nyeri Town on February 9, 2024.

Coast region offices along Mahindi Road off Shimanzi Road will conduct the auction on February 12, 2024, while the South Rift Region will hold its auction at the Provincial Public Works Building along Prison Road in Nakuru the following day.

Bidders will battle for the cars at Sugunanga along the Nairobi - Eldoret Highway in the North Rift Region.

In the Western Region, the auction exercise will be held at the Ministry of Roads Building along Kisumu-Kakamega Road on February 14, 2024.

The viewing dates will be from January 24, 2024, to February 6, 2024.

How to Bid

To obtain a bidding number, interested bidders for motor vehicles will be required to pay a refundable fee of Ksh60,000 per vehicle, Ksh50,000 for weighbridge scrap and containers per lot as well as Ksh5,000 for other lots in cash.

Successful bidders must pay 25 per cent of the purchase price in cash or deposited in the KeNHA bank account within 14 days.

KeNHA will prioritise application bids for youth, women and persons with disability.

Payments will be made in cash to KeNHA at the cash office at the Auction Centre by 9:00 am on the auction date before being allowed to bid.

The successful bidder must pay the balance of the purchase price in cash or deposited in the KeNHA bank account provided in the catalogue within 14 days after the auction.

The sale is subject to reserved prices and the goods are sold on an as-is-where-is basis.

Before the auction date, all interested bidders will be required to continually check the KeNHA website for any clarification that may arise before the auction date.
