An ambulance belonging to the Murang’a County Government on Wednesday, March 20, plunged into a river in the region.
Reports indicated that the ambulance was coming from Thika in Kiambu County at the time of the accident.

“Muranga County ambulance crashes into a river at Murang'a coming from Thika after the driver failed to negotiate a curve next to a river,” MAK reported.

A tow truck was immediately deployed to pull the ambulance from the river.
It was not immediately established if there were any patients in the vehicle at the time of the accident.
In less than four days, Kenya has witnessed over five fatal accidents mostly blamed on careless driving, unroadworthy cars and poor roads.
This has led to Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen's calling for mandatory physical and medical testing of all Kenyan drivers.
Those who fail or refuse to take the tests will not be issued a driving licence by the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA).
On March 19, the country was thrown into mourning after a Kenyatta University bus was involved in an accident at Voi in Taita Taveta County leading to the death of 11 students.
This happened the same time another accident claimed lives in Bomet and a day after a school bus carrying students from Kapsabet High School lost control leading to the death of one student and a teacher.
