The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has dared the Government to arrest Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama over what was termed as abusive comments to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
This comes after Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery ordered for the investigation of Muthama, citing that his remarks were prone to cause instability and insecurity in the country.
Addressing a press conference CORD said that Nkaissery had no powers to instruct the Director of Public Prosecution Keriako Tobiko to carry out investigations terming the move as illegal.
The Opposition Coalition firmly defended Muthama questioning why the Jubilee Government was tolerating corruption in the devolution docket headed by Anne Waiguru.
They criticized the alleged special treatment awarded to the Devolution and Planning CS by President Uhuru Kenyatta, demanding for her suspension over graft cases at the ministry.
During their rally at Uhuru park, Senator Muthama blatantly said that Kenyatta was giving CS Waiguru special treatment compared to other executives.
Muthama demanded the President to explain why Waiguru was not suspended after cases of corruption were reported in her Ministry, yet other Cabinet Secretaries were suspended over similar cases.
