Gideon Moi Calls on President Uhuru Kenyatta to Intervene in Kerio Valley Clashes

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has sent a message to President Uhuru Kenyatta, warning that the continued mayhem in the Kerio Valley will lead to a genocide if the government fails to respond firmly.

The KANU Chairman stated that the President must personally intervene in ending the clashes that have led to brutal killings and displacement of over 10,000 people living in the area.

“What we are witnessing is near genocide and the President must address this issue," Moi stated.

The Baringo Senator decried that the bandits had gotten so bold that they had the guts to carry out an attack just a few kilometres from where Deputy President William Ruto was addressing a security meeting.

He was making reference to an incident on Friday last week when armed Pokot bandits shot in the air a few kilometres from where Ruto was holding a security meeting in Bartabwa Ward. The Friday incident left Ngorora chief Thomas Ruttok Chebor dead.

Moi was accompanied by Nominated Senator Zipporah Kittony where they donated food stuff to the displaced families.
