Family and friends are in shock, following the brutal murder of a Kenyan woman living in the US and her six-month-old son
They were both stabbed to death.
Maureen Wanjiku had been living in an apartment at Anaheim, California until the unfortunate Monday afternoon tragedy befell them.
Wanjiku was niece to Isaac Kariuki, the proprietor of Diasporamessenger.com- a Kenyan news website in the states.
According to The Nation, neighbors called 911 after they allegedly saw Wanjiku's boyfriend fleeing the apartment.
Police rushed to the apartment, only to find Wanjiku dead. The child succumbed to the deep injuries as he was being taken to hospital.
The man, identified as 24-year-old Kwame Carpenter has since escaped and the police have launched a man hunt for him.
Many Kenyans living in the US gathered at the scene of crime and Anaheim Police Department, perhaps trying to find answers to the foul act.
Police investigations into the murders continue.
