Nominated MP Oburu Odinga has sensationally alleged that the Jubilee government is planning to assassinate his brother, ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Oburu alleged that the Jubilee team had panicked in the wake of the continued unity by Opposition leaders under the National Super Alliance (NASA).
The MP added that the assassination scheme against his famous brother is planned to first create chaos around the former premier so that when they kill him, it would seem like a random act of political violence.
He quoted the Friday incident where Raila was attacked by armed goons while campaigning in Katilia, Turkana.
Oburu claimed the assassination had been planned by powerful and experienced security officers. He said this is why the Turkana East police boss was quick to allege that it was Raila’s bodyguard who shot in the air.
“The government has on several occasions tried to assassinate Raila and after we thwart their ploy by going public, they subject us to constant grilling and questioning by police,” Oburu complained.
Raila's brother further claimed that the laxity among security officials to arrest the youth who used guns to disrupt the meeting at Katilia shows who was behind it.
“The killing of an ODM MCA from Baringo and an MP aspirant on Friday night is a clear indication of how Jubilee plans to deal with its opponents," the former Bondo MP stated, further calling on President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene and ensure there are investigations on the same.
