Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Nominations in Matungu, Kakamega County Cancelled Over Missing Names

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) supporters in Matungu, Kakamega County will have to wait longer to vote for their candidates after the party cancelled its primaries in the area.

The decision was made on Saturday after it emerged that the names of two parliamentary aspirants were missing on the ballot papers.

According to ODM Communications Director Philip Etale, the voting was rescheduled to Monday, April 17.

The exercise was delayed in different polling stations across the County following hitches with the residents protesting against a proposal to have the polls conducted on different days.

At the same time, seven people including an aspirant were arrested in Kilgoris, Narok on allegations of ballot stuffing.

The suspects were reportedly found with marked ballot papers for the ODM nominations going on in the region.
