Police Officers Caught On CCTV Looting Home During Raid

An incident last week where administration police officers raided a home in Nairobi's Loresho Estate and allegedly found contraband goods worth 35 million has hit the headlines once again but this time with the ironic twist of officers gone rouge.

While media cameras showed the raid as the officers stormed into the house, as well as the huge stash of counterfeit goods, CCTV cameras would catch officers who had managed to hide from the glare of media so they could steal.

The recovered footage shows some officers emptying purses and putting the money into their pockets.

The house in Loresho, described as a go down for counterfeit merchandise ranging from cigarettes to detergents and food items destined for the Kenyan market.

The incident however raises a lot of questions right from why the operation was conducted by administration police instead of regular police to the circumstances under which the suspects were released from custody.

The police is yet to comment on the question of officers having been caught looting the house.
