Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago Gives NASA Strict Order Before Saturday Rally in Eldoret

The National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders have been given strict orders ahead of their Saturday rally in Deputy President William Ruto's political backyard in Eldoret.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago on Thursday warned the leaders against throwing insults at leaders in the area noting that such behaviour would not be tolerated.

Mr Mandago told NASA that the Eldoret rally was in vain as the locals already know who they will vote for in the upcoming polls.

"They are free to come and look for votes but they will not get any vote in this county. The voter registration ended and we know this game is over, the numbers are out there and records speak for themselves.

"We will not go to where we will be engaged in guesswork as they don’t even have a presidential candidate. We have also heard they want to create a chief minister office which shows they are just power-seeking leaders," he said.

The Jubilee-affiliated Governor challenged the Opposition heads to explain to the residents their development strategy in case they get into Government after the August 8 Election.

"Now that they are coming to this county, they should tell us what plans they have for the farmers and plans in terms of infrastructure development. Residents want tangible solutions," Mandago stated.

On Wednesday, NASA co-principals, Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula signed a power-sharing agreement that stipulates how they will work in the Coalition.
