2 Dead in Collapsed Building at Kware Estate Pipeline Nairobi

The death toll from the Kware building that collapsed on Monday night has risen to two as woman rescued from the rubble succumbed to her injuries.

On Tuesday, a child's body was recovered in the rubbles with updates indicating that more people could still be trapped.

In a miraculuous incident, a mother and her two children were on Tuesday rescued from the rubble of  the collapsed building.

According to an update about the incident, the three were pulled out alive in the ongoing rescue operation led by the National Disaster Management Unit (NDMU).

Deputy Director of Communication at NDMU Pius Masai, announced that the rescue operation would last at least three to four days due to the complexities in accessing the scene of the disaster.

"The operation will still go on for days. There are other buildings surrounding the collapsed building, one of them is weak and denying us space," stated the Director.

Mr Masai, mentioned that 128 tenants had been rescued and accounted for by midday on Tuesday.

The seven-storey building collapsed on Monday night at Kware area, in the densely populated Pipeline estate, Nairobi.
