A man walked into a restaurant along Gaberone road off Luthuli avenue in Nairobi on Wednesday, June 30, and stole a mobile phone from a customer.
In a 15 second video captured on CCTV footage, the customer was seen using her phone before a man approached her from behind, snatched the phone and dashed out.
With the help of other customers who were having breakfast at the restaurant, the woman tried to get a hold of the suspect to no avail.

"It was at around 6:30 am in the morning. Unfortunately, the culprit was not caught," Kimani Ngina, the hotel owner told Kenyans.co.ke.
The woman's case is just one among the many highlighted insecurity cases in Nairobi CBD and its environs. Kenyans have on a number of instances taken to social media to highlight their plights.
Muggers seem to be coming up with new tactics to terrorise businessmen, motorists as well as pedestrians on a daily basis.
On June 21, 2021, KBC journalist Shiksha Arora narrated an incident where she was strangled and robbed at the globe roundabout flyover in Nairobi.
Some of her personal belongings including her purse and mobile phone were stolen.
The Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai vowed that security in the CBD would be beefed up.
Additionally, the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) urged members of the public who may have fallen victim to make formal reports at the Nairobi Central DCI offices.
"While many victims take to social media to narrate their ordeals in the hands of mugger gangs (which is good sensitization), we further urge them to formalize those complaints...
"Many are scenarios when suspected muggers go scot-free even after they have been arrested along various streets and walks within the CBD, as the few who report at the station fail to pursue their cases or never turn up for hearings," reads the statement by DCI.
