The court has freed Mugo wa Wairimu, a fake doctor suspected to be the man on a video raping a sedated female patient.
Mugo who last week was charged with 12 counts among them rape, operating a clinic without a license and masquerading as a gyanaecologist, was on Monday released on a Sh1 Million cash bail or Sh5 Million bond and his passport confiscated.
The court stated that it was the right of the suspect, James Ndichu widely known as Mugo wa Wairimu to access cash bail.
Appearing in court on Friday, Mugo denied all the charges with the prosecution team requesting to have him remanded since two key witnesses were yet to record statements with the police.

The defendant's lawyer Peter Macharia objected the move arguing his client had long been under police custody and was loyal hence could not flee the country.
The suspect was arrested on September 10 at a Limuru hotel while on the run after he was exposed on a national TV allegedly raping a female patient at his Prestige Clinic in Githurai.
