Josephine Kulea

Josephine Kulea is an activist in Samburu County who is spearheading efforts to empower girls and women.

Kulea is fighting harmful cultural practices and promoting education for vulnerable children, especially girls, in the county.

She founded the Samburu Girls Foundation (SGF), which rescues girls from FGM, child marriage, and provides shelters and education for them.

Kulea’s work also includes other humanitarian efforts, such as distributing blankets, food, and essential items to vulnerable families across Samburu, helping communities facing drought and poverty.

Caleb Nyoiro

He is a technology leader and youth-empowerment advocate who serves as Site Director at Zone01, a coding and tech-training hub based in Kisumu that aims to equip the youth with software-development skills. 

Fatuma Ibrahim Hakar

Fatuma Ibrahim Hakar serves as a nominated Member of the County Assembly (MCA) in Garissa County under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

Beyond her political role, she is best known for her work as the CEO and founder of GirlKind Kenya, an organisation that advocates for the protection and empowerment of girls, especially in Northern Kenya.

Fatuma has been particularly vocal about the need to eliminate female genital mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and other gender-based practices.  

Stephen Musyoka

Stephen Musyoka, commonly known as ‘Syoks’, is one of the country’s earliest and most influential digital strategists and content creators.  

Syoks began his career in journalism and later moved into social media and digital marketing, eventually co-founding TrINC Media, a digital agency. 

Janice Muchemi

Janice Muchemi is a human‑rights lawyer who has built a reputation for defending victims of police brutality, gender‑based violence, and other injustices.

As an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, she works with the International Justice Mission (IJM) Kenya, where she represents survivors of brutality and pushes for accountability within the justice system.

Beyond the courtroom, Muchemi also works actively on policy reform and advocacy in a bid to change practices within the criminal justice system so that it protects all Kenyans.

Luke Kanyang'areng, a nurse from West Pokot County, has been one of Kenya’s most inspiring frontline health workers.

Kanyang'areng has become known for his commitment to reaching patients in hard-to-access areas, often travelling long distances to deliver lifesaving care to patients.

Through his hard work, Kanyang'areng has reinforced primary healthcare delivery, supported immunisation drives, responded to disease outbreaks, and ensured vulnerable populations in the region receive timely medical attention.

Wakiuru Njuguna

Wakiuru Njuguna is the Managing Partner of the HEVA Fund. 

For the last 15 years, she has dedicated her career to addressing the "missing middle”, businesses too large for microfinance but too unconventional for traditional banking, proving that creativity can be a highly profitable investment.
