Moses Wetangula's Bodyguard Sacked After Gun Drama at Supreme Court

Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's bodyguard, Simon Lonyai has reportedly been fired.

Simon Lonyai is said to have been dismissed from the National Police Service on Tuesday after an altercation at the Supreme Court.

Lonyai on Monday engaged in a scuffle with his seniors after trying to enter the Court room in the company of Wetangula while armed.

The incident sparked a scene at the entrance after the officers deployed to man the area blocked their entry following an earlier directive to restrict armed persons from accessing the court room.

Following the altercation, Lonyai was forcefully disarmed and ejected from the premises.

The Constable was later whisked away to Central Police Station despite protests from NASA leaders who were present during the scuffle.

After the arrest, Central Police Station OCPD Robinson Thuku stated that Lonyai would be arraigned in court on Tuesday to face charges of causing disturbance.

Earlier on, NASA leader Raila Odinga had caused a scene at the Court's premises after some of his security personnel was denied entry.

A visibly angered Odinga asked for respect from security officers at the entrance insisiting he was at liberty to tag along whoever he wanted.
