Police Update on NASA's Chief Strategist David Ndii's Arrest

Leaders allied to the National Super Alliance (NASA) on Sunday evening claimed that the team's chief strategist David Ndii was arrested at a hotel in Kwale County.

NASA leader Raila Odinga's spokesperson Dennis Onyango stated that Ndii had been picked up by police officers and was taken to Diani Police Station.

According to the Nation, police denied the accusation saying Ndii was not at the police station as had been alleged.

Ms Winnie Odinga, who is the daughter of NASA leader Odinga, was spotted at Diani Police Station at around 9.30pm but she revealed that the police did not want to talk to her.

She added that at around 9.45pm, several unmarked police cars were spotted at the station and she believes that is the time Dr Ndii was sneaked out.

Mr Onyango shared similar sentiments, claiming that Ndii's wife was yet to see her husband.

"CID officers are back at Dr Ndii hotel room at Leopard For room search together with his wife but without him.

"The officers have told Mrs Ndii they have him and he is safe. But she has not seen him," wrote Onyango.

NASA leaders believe Ndii's arrest is due to his appointment to lead the coordination of the People's Assembly.

On Friday, NASA announced a list of seven people who will facilitate secession and coordinate the People's Assembly.

Speaking at Okoa Kenya offices, former Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale stated that the coalition had set up an organizing committee whose duties will be to facilitate and guide the People's Assembly.
