NASA Lawyer Otiende Amollo Reveals Police Plan for David Ndii

National Super Alliance (NASA) Lawyer Otiende Amollo who is also the Rarieda Member of Parliament on Monday afternoon revealed that the police were planning to charge Dr David Ndii with incitement to violence.

Addressing the media outside the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) offices, the lawmaker explained that Dr Ndii was set to be taken to Milimani law courts at around 2:00 pm.

"Our expectation is that at around 2:00 pm he is likely to be presented to the court with charges of incitement to violence," he stated.

He hit out at the police for mistreating the coalition's Chief Strategist, stating that if the detectives had any issue with Dr Ndii they should have summoned him.

"The charges they are preferring on him are utterances that happened months ago. Ordinarily, they would have invited him for interrogation not pouncing on him when he’s on holiday"

"Why should you go to a hotel room and start searching his hotel room?Under the law, you must have a search warrant before conducting any search. Under the law, it is not right to hold him without his lawyer," he explained.

Regarding the motive of the arrest, the learned counsel mentioned that it was merely an act of intimidation against the Opposition.

Earlier on, the coalition condemned the arrest of its Chief Strategist while calling for his immediate unconditional release.

Meanwhile, Dr Ndii's wife Mrs  Mwende Gatabaki on Monday afternoon noted that her husband was not a criminal and was being treated unfairly.

She called for the release of her husband stating that "This is not transparency. My husband is not a criminal. He is not corrupt".
