Gov Mutua Receives Nasty Comments on His Remarks on NASA Rally

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Thursday hit the National Super Alliance (NASA) principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka over the consultative meeting happening in his county today, Friday.

Posing on his Twitter, the Maendeleo Chap Chap leader wondered why the event could not be held in Kitui County or Makueni County whose Governor -Kivutha Kibwana - is a Wiper leader.

Stating that he respected the meeting as their constitutional right, Dr Mutua expressed that the NASA brigade failed to choose their venue properly.

Kenyans on social media were not kind to the former Government spokeman as they told the governor to mind his own business and focus on waiting for the court verdict on his gubernatorial win.

Others went ahead to remind him that Machakos is a NASA stronghold and therefore he should stop meddling with their affairs.

In December last year, the Machakos County Assembly defied the Maendeleo Chap Chap leader and passed a motion to have the People's Assembly, making it the 12th county assembly in the country passing that motion.

NASA principals – Raila, Mudavadi, Wetangula and Kalonzo – are meeting at Maanzoni Lodge in Machakos county, in a final attempt to rally Odinga’s co-principals behind his planned swearing-in as the people’s president, scheduled for January 30.

Speaking to the press on Thursday NASA chief strategist Dr David Ndii dispel any rumours of division over the oath plan among the co-principals, asserting that the inauguration will take place as planned.

Reports from dailies are claiming that the financiers and a few hardliners in Mr Odinga’s ODM party are behind the push for the former Prime Minister to take a presidential oath despite the risk of the ramifications both locally and internationally.

Political analysts have expressed extreme doubts in Mr Odinga reading “the exact oath as is described in the constitution.”
