Main Reasons Why Mudavadi Snubbed NASA Principals' Meeting

Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi on Friday explained why he snubbed the National Super Alliance (NASA) principals' meeting on Thursday.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, ANC's Secretary-General Barrack Muluka divulged that his party leader was not informed of the meeting on time.

"Mudavadi was not informed of the meeting in time and since he had already committed to other engagements, he could not make it there.

"We don't waste time in meetings that we are sure won't achieve anything."

He further accused NASA leader Raila Odinga of performing 'drama' noting that Mudavadi was sure the meeting was not useful.

According to him, all the events that lead to the ouster of Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula as the Minority Leader on Tuesday were orchestrated and planned.

"All these things happening is pure drama. From the swearing-in to the meeting with President Kenyatta and now the meeting intended to 'save' Wetagula. It is all drama," exclaimed Muluka.

He also dismissed any motive by the Odinga to save the Ford Kenya leader's previous position in the Senate.

On Thursday afternoon, Odinga met the coalition leaders in the quest to resolve the growing discord between a section of NASA Senators and Wetangula that resulted in his removal as Senate Minority leader.

The move, executed on Tuesday, saw Wetangula, replaced with Siaya Senator James Orengo.

Speaking to members of the press, however, Odinga revealed that they had held a fruitful meeting with Wetangula, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and NASA Senators and resolved to find a solution to the existing impasse.

The NASA principal also noted that the senators will go on a retreat to discuss the issues and compile a report to be submitted within 14 days.
