Julie Gichuru Narrates How William Kabogo Saved Her From Embarrassment

Media personality Julie Gichuru has narrated how former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo once saved her from an embarrassing moment after a live interview.

In a video posted on Janet Mbugua's YouTube Channel, the African Leadership Dialogue (ALD) host stated that the incident occurred after a lengthy interview on Citizen TV.

"So Citizen, we’ve just had this tough interview with Kabogo in 2013. And I was seated the whole time with my legs crossed and I had not realized that I had pins and needles. So when I stood up at the end of the interview I literally fell.

"And Kabogo had the presence of mind to literally check if the cameras were on and grabbed me before I hit the ground big time," she explained.

Upon the revelation, Mbugua exclaimed that if the cameras were on at the time, the story would have been totally different.

The two laughed describing the incident as ridiculous.

Julie further confessed that she was a tomboy in her early years where she "ate sand after a dare by a friend."

She recalled when she met former United States President Barrack Obama describing him as a funny person who cracked jokes when the cameras were off.

On the qualities leaders should possess, Julie conveyed: "A leader should serve from a place of love where they genuinely want the people they serve to have the best."

The former Sunday Live host commented on going back to mainstream media.

"We are already seeing a death of the mainstream media and the digital space we are using right now is very important. I wouldn't go back, I only want to go forward," she added.
