Migori Governor Okoth Obado Questioned Over Sharon Otieno's Murder

Migori Governor Okoth Obado is being grilled at the Kisumu DCI offices over the murder of university student Sharon Otieno.

According to reports, Nation journalist Barrack Oduor who narrowly escaped death is also being questioned by the homicide detectives on the case.

The latest development comes after former Kanyadoto Member of the County Assembly Lawrence Mula was arrested on Sunday after being linked to the murder of the university student.

On Monday, the governor's personal assistant Michael Oyamo was arraigned in court over the abduction and death of Sharon.

He was denied bail at the Homa Bay Law Court with the judge ordering that he remain in custody awaiting charges on Tuesday.

Oyamo was arrested last week and was being held at the Homa Bay Police Station before being arraigned in court on Monday alongside eight other suspects.

Sharon's case has attracted public interest with many politicians including Nairobi Mike Sonko calling for speeding investigations into the matter.

The family of the deceased have pledged not to bury Sharon until her killers are brought to book.

Autopsy results released by Government Chief Pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed that Sharon was strangled, stabbed eight times and possibly raped by her assailants.

"Sharon was stabbed three times on the neck, four times on the back and on the left side of the abdomen," he told journalists after concluding the autopsy on Friday.
