Uhuru Makes New Appointments to Parastatals

President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally come to the rescue of former IEBC ICT boss Chris Msando’s wife by giving her a new government job.

The new appointments announced on Friday night mostly include ODM leader Raila Odinga, his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka's allies and 2017 election losers.

Eva Buyu Msando was appointed alongside former Mbooni MP Kisoi Munyao and one John Masaba to be members of the Export Processing Zones (EPZ) Authority for 3 years.

Uhuru picked Paul Gicheru to chair the EPZ for 3 years with effect from the October 2.

Former Senate Speaker Ekwee Ethuro was appointed as chairperson of the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) for 5 years.

Businessman Zedekiah Bundotich, popularly known as Buzeki, was named chairman of the Board of Chemelil Sugar Company Limited.

David Osiany and former Kisumu gubernatorial contestant Christine Atieno Otieno were appointed to the board of Chemelil Sugar company.

Ex-Mwingi North MP John Munuve was named member and the non-executive chairperson of the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) for the next 3 years.

Former Vice LSK chair Faith Waigwa will for the next three years be the chairperson of the Public Procurement Administrative Review Board (PPARB).

IEBC lawyer in the 2017 election petition Paul Otieno Nyamodi was named as a member of PPARB.

NASA CEO Norman Magaya was named as a member of the Kenya Film Classification Board.

Outspoken former Vihiga MP Yusuf Chanzu was named alongside Kenneth Otiso, Nathan Psiwa, and Miriam Cherogony as members of the Board of Directors of Consolidated Bank Limited.

Former Vihiga Governor Moses Akaranga was appointed by Environment CS Keriako Tobiko to be the chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Environment Trust Fund.

The appointments were effective as of September 20.
