Harmonize Speaks After Being Detained at a Hotel in Eldoret Over Failed Bill Payment

Tanzanian artist Harmonize on Sunday spoke out after being detained at a hotel in Eldoret after failing to perform at a concert which left a lot of his fans disappointed.

Reports indicated that the Kwangwaru hit maker together with his team, were held at the Starbucks Hotel after failing to offset a Ksh29,000 bill after spending the night there.

The musician took to his Instagram account and apologised to his fans after he failed to show up on Saturday during a concert he was set to perform.

Through his post, the Bongo musician explained that the show failed to go as planned as he was not paid in full by his promoters as agreed.

"Ni kwa upendo wenu tuu ila kilichonisikitisha ni promoters kuchukua pesa za watu wasio pungua 4000 then wakashindwa kuja kumalizia payment iliyobaki na kukimbia hii inaumiza sana (It is with your love despite the disappointment. The promoters collected money from not less than 4000 people then failed to clear their payment and disappeared with it," read the post.

He further revealed that the act by the promoters was a sign of disrespect and a way to tarnish his name among his fans.

The Fire Waist musician further pointed out that he was hurt that a lot of his fans who had paid for the show went away angry and felt cheated.

The infuriated fans showed their dismay by throwing bottles and other objects to the stage during the highly publicized Chaget Festival on Saturday night.

Eldoret South Police boss Wilson Abduba explained that order was restored after police managed to calm down the crowd.

Abduba stated that investigations into the matter had begun after the promoters were arrested.
