Ex-Kiambu Governor William Kabogo Hints at Working With DP Ruto

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo, on Tuesday, revealed that he was willing to work with Deputy President William Ruto during the 2022 presidential race.

Kabogo told Kameme that he would support Ruto, morally and financially if they both agreed on what direction they wanted to take the country.

He, however, insisted that he would only work with Ruto on condition that he would not be forced to take up the running mate position.

Hinting that he was eyeing the top seat, Kabogo suggested that Ruto might as well be his running mate come 2022.

"If we agree on where we want to take this country we can work together but I should not be told I must be his deputy, he can as well be my running mate," he stated.

The former governor, however, highlighted that it was too early to start campaigning for the 2022  elections.

He urged political leaders to quit politicking and instead perform the roles Kenyans had elected them for.

"I might be on the ballot in 2022 but as I have repeatedly said it is early to start talking about an election which is four years away. We have just come out of another poll, now is time to work," Kabogo stated.

He also expressed his support for President Uhuru Kenyatta who has been on the spot over the Washenzi remarks he made during the ground-breaking ceremony for the Mama Ngina Waterfront Project in Mombasa.

While Kabogo pointed out that a lot was yet to be done, he urged Kenyans form Central region to appreciate what Uhuru had done for them and stop piling pressure on the head of state.

“The MPs making noise now are the biggest failures since they decided their work is all about 2022 election and not the electorate," Kabogo added.
