NTV Anchor Exposes ODM’s Plan to Control His Show

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has been exposed for allegedly planning to control a political show on NTV.

The show host, Ken Mijungu, on Tuesday, September 17, disclosed that ODM had reached out to him to host their Kibra candidate, Imran Okoth, alone on Sidebar instead of letting him face off other candidates who had been invited.

"For the onset, we would like to state this. We invited everyone on the table including the ODM candidate. However, we were told we cannot have him together with the others on this panel.

They stated that he has to have a seat on this table alone. Unfortunately, we could not bend the rules of Sidebar," Mijungu disclosed.

Mijungu went on to inform that they had also tried to get hold of Mariga who proved to be elusive at the end.

"We also invited the Jubilee Candidate, McDonald Mariga who unfortunately we have been trying to contact for the last two days. That's the reason he is not on the table," the anchor explained.

NTV ended up hosting Amani National Congress' Eliud Owalo, Ford Kenya’s Khamisi Butichi , Narc Kenya’s Elijah Nyamwamu, and Hamida Mala from the United Green Movement candidate.

Owalo and Butichi ended up confronting each other angrily on live TV. They threw constant jibes at each other, centered around their personal and family issues.

Owalo had arrived at the show after being accosted in Kibra by angry ODM youth on Tuesday, September 17. He had to flee from the scene on a motorbike.

Mariga was, meanwhile, fighting a case against him filed by a Jubilee candidate who accused the party of rigging in the ex-footballer.

Mariga won the case
