Raila Milks ODM MPs Money to Beat Mariga

Orange Democratic Movement leader, Raila Odinga, hatched a plot that will ensure Imran Okoth wins the Kibra seat.

The Standard reported that on Tuesday,  October 9, Odinga met ODM MPs and asked them to contribute Ksh 50,000 each towards Imran Okoth's campaign.

Odinga reached to the decision when he held a Parliamentary Group meeting with the party legislators at County Hall.

The party is set to hold a funds drive at a Nairobi hotel on Wednesday, October 10.

The African Union Envoy further directed the legislators to staunchly campaign for the party flagbearer in Kibra.

ODM's parliamentary meeting was marred with controversy after the party alleged that rebel MP Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), had ditched Ruto's camp to campaign for Imran Okoth instead of Jubilee's McDonald Mariga.

"Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa says ODM is her home and her DNA is ODM. She says she fully supports Bernard Okoth Imran, our candidate for the Kibra Parliamentary seat in the November 7 by-election," read the tweet.

Jumwa, however, refuted the claims reiterating her support for Deputy President William Ruto.

"I have not dumped Ruto or endorsed Imran. Raila made a surprise visit to my Parliamentary Service Commission's Office this afternoon.

"This was after he attended the ODM Parliamentary Group meeting at County Hall that I did not attend!" she stated.

While ODM is seeking for a funds drive, Jubilee has gone all out to splash money in Kibra.

Mariga bought artwork for over Ksh 50,000. The young boy who sold the artwork went home Ksh 105,000 richer after Senator Millicent Omanga splashing out Ksh 20,000 and several other leaders as well, in solidarity with their party's candidate.
