Ex-K24 anchor Eric Njoka has landed a new job as a news anchor at Zee Media Corporation Limited, India’s largest news network. 

He made the development public by changing his social media profile description to reflect his new job.

“It happens when you keep at it. See you on the other side. It’s up to you to shape your Destiney. Never stop trying and dreaming. It happens. Here is to new titles” he wrote.

Zee Media Corporation Limited (formerly Zee News Ltd.) is one of India's largest News networks with 14 news channels in six different languages touching more than 220 million viewers and digital properties.

Colleagues and media personalities took to social to celebrate him in his new position.

Njoka was fired from Mediamax-owned K24 in June 2020 after working for six years. He did not join another media house after the exit.  

"As I take time to rest, I am also strategizing on which direction I want to take my career and I am also looking for opportunities beyond the country," he stated after leaving K24.

The journalist has been in media for 13 years and has worked as a reporter for CCTV Africa and KTN. Njoka has had a bumpy career in media with a number of job losses and missed opportunities.

In 2011, he had applied for a job at CNN while still at KTN when he got a chance to join another media house CCTV which is now is now China Global Television Network (CGTN).

His colleague who had also gotten the opportunity informed his bosses that he had been poached by CCTV and that cost him the opportunity at CNN.

Njoka worked at CCTV for one year before returning to KTN.  He was fired from KTN in 2013 as he was preparing to read the primetime news. Njoka then joined K24 where he worked for six years until he was fired.
