The residents were protesting the death of a man who was beheaded and his body dumped in the forest.

While asking the government to fast-track the case and bring the perpetrators to book, the protesters stated that they would continue blocking the road until they are heard.

“We will block the road until the government tells us what exactly happened to him,” one of the protestors stated.

They explained that the government had sent officials to investigate the matter but had since not issued any report.

“The government sent people here on Monday, January 2, but to date, no action has been taken. We want his head found,” a resident added.

A police officer at the scene stated that they retrieved the body of the deceased in the forest and put in place the required procedures to investigate the matter.

“When we received the reports of the beheading, we proceeded to the location but the head was nowhere to be found,”

“According to the reports we received, the deceased was last seen by a friend who was well known,” the police officer explained.

In another incident on Monday, January 16, motorists were caught up in a traffic snarl-up along Thika Road, following a nasty accident.
