Former President Uhuru Kenyatta, on Saturday, May 6, arrived in Bujumbura, Burundi, aboard a private jet to witness the signing of a peace agreement between warring factions in Congo.
A search by Kenyans.co.ke, established that the former Head of State used the Cessna Citation C560XL plane.
The plane - of registration 5Y - WHB is managed by Phoenix Aviation - a private tourism aviation company in Kenya.
Despite being a private plane, the jet was branded with the Kenyan flag on the fuselage around the door, significant of the passenger on board.
"Phoenix Aviation has the largest business jet aircraft fleet in Kenya. This jet fleet is supplemented by three twin-engine turbo-propeller aircraft supporting air safari solutions.
"The turbo-propeller fleet takes you to smaller exotic nature-reserved destinations like the Masai Mara, Serengeti, Amboseli and Mt. Kenya," the company states on its website.
The jet can carry eight passengers and has an additional capacity of two cabin members.
Besides the cabin and passenger section, the jet also has a section for luggage, with the entire plane having a capacity of 997 kilograms.
The jet also has a traffic avoidance impact system and an Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) to alarm pilots of any obstacles.
Production of the Cessna Citation C560XL plane began in 1994 and is estimated to cost roughly Ksh350 million.
