You are Lying, Munya Tells Rotich

Meru Governor Peter Munya has criticised the National Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich's report on the cash crunch facing the country.

Rotich had been summoned by parliament to explain the financial situation of the country. He stated that money had already been distributed to the counties.

The Council of Governors (CoG) chair Peter Munya lashed out at the CS stating the he ought to stop lying to Kenyans as counties are yet to receive their allocated finances from the National Government.

Munya retorted that most counties had only received cash to pay salaries and this had stalled development plans in the counties due to lack of funds.

The CoG chair stated that there was a financial crisis in the country and Rotich should be honest in regards to the matter so that solutions could be deliberated upon.

However, during the summon before the National Assembly, the Treasury CS said that the Government was not broke despite concerns raised of unpaid bills, services and pending civil servant salaries.
