Billionaire Chandaria Son's Prestigious Govt Job

It is an undisputed fact that tycoon Manu Chandaria is a respectable and renowned businessman in Kenya, having built an empire worth billions. His community work and promotion of Kenya's interests has also been recognised globally. 

The Kenyan born Indian billionaire owns a conglomerate, The Comcraft Group, that has a presence in over 40 countries. Comcraft is a manufacturing and technology company. 

Following in his footsteps is his son, Neal Chandaria, who works in the family business and also holds a prestigious government job abroad.

Neal serves as the Kenyan honorary consul in Singapore, a position he has held since 2011. 

A consul is someone designated by a foreign government to look after the affairs of its citizens. 

Neal also handle issues like visas and trade. He also deals with citizen services and foreign visa acquisition. 

For one to be appointed a consul, the individual must have a business or cultural connection with the host nation

In the case of Neal, he manages his family's business in Singapore. He is the chief executive officer at Comcraft Asia Pacific Limited in Singapore.

The Singapore business is part of the Comcraft Group, an industrial conglomerate worth billions. As a part of the management team of Comcraft, he has been involved in developing the groups’ activities in Asia. He was earlier involved in the firm's businesses in Africa and Europe before shifting camp to Singapore. 

Neal does not earn for being an honorary consul as he is not a professional diplomat.  He was given the honour to serve Kenya and was appointed for his merits.

His appointment does not have a term limit too, he serves until the appointment is revoked. 

The billionaire's son graduated with a degree in economics from Stanford University, in the US. He is also a member of The Global Peace Foundation, which convenes and implements development projects and conferences on grassroots peacebuilding, education, entrepreneurship, and youth leadership development.
